Sayuri Sharper

SV2 Board Member

Sayuri Sharper is a retired high-tech executive and business litigator. She is passionate about promoting a better world and lending her expertise to nurture social entrepreneurs to provide scalable solutions to global problems. She currently mentors social entrepreneurs through MIT D-Lab Scale-Up program, MIT Legatum Center, and Santa Clara University Global Social Benefit Institute. She is also a Senior Partner at Acumen, a global non-profit that invests in social enterprises to tackle poverty.

Prior to her retirement, Sayuri was Of Counsel at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, a global litigation firm where she practiced complex, high-stakes intellectual property law. Before practicing law, Sayuri held numerous executive marketing positions in the high-tech industry. She was a co-founder and CEO of Telesend Inc., a telecom equipment company that was subsequently acquired by Cisco Systems.

At SV2, Sayuri is active in International, Education, and Impact Investment rounds.  She is a lead partner to Global Press Institute and Learners Guild. She is also a co-leader of the Impact Investment round process. Prior to joining SV2 Board, she was on the board of Silicon Valley Pro Bono Project and CASA of San Mateo County.

Sayuri has a JD from Santa Clara University School of Law and a BS/MSEE from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
