SV2 Board Member
Nancy Lue joined SV2 in 2014 and was elected to the Board of Directors later that year. She has been an active participant in the Education and Lightning Grant Rounds. Nancy led the design of SV2’s revenue diversification strategy and also served on the Steering Committee and Selection Committee of The Big Lift of San Mateo, a SV2 education grantee.
Currently, Nancy is Executive Director of Global Silicon Valley (GSV), one of the largest venture capital firms investing in education technology, where she oversees portfolio relations and external partnerships.
Previously, she served as Senior Advisor and Chief Performance Improvement Officer at the U.S. Department of Education where she led all of the agency’s strategic planning and performance management initiatives, including the development of its five-year strategic plan. She also provided policy guidance and implementation oversight for competitive federal grant programs with a focus on scaling innovative learning models.
Prior to her appointment to the Obama Administration, Nancy was a Principal at The Advisory Board Company where led corporate strategy and new product development for the launch of the firm’s global higher education division. Nancy also worked as Vice President of Strategic Planning for Edison Learning, the nation’s largest education management company.
Nancy has served on the boards and advisory committees of more than a dozen education organizations and appointed commissions. She is currently on the Board of Directors of Students for Education Reform and is a Fellow with the American Leadership Forum-Silicon Valley. She graduated with honors from Harvard College and the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
