The Upsides and Downsides of Opportunity Zones

Join us for a dynamic Impact Investing Learning Session focused on Opportunity Zones. We’ll hear from a diverse panel including Jenna Nicholas, CEO of Impact Experience, Valerie Red-Horse Mohl, Executive Director of Social Venture Circle, and Cynthia Wong, Executive Director of Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) Bay Area. These experts will guide us in understanding this new tool for revitalizing economically distressed communities using private investments.

Established in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 as an innovative way to encourage investment in low-income communities across the U.S., Opportunity Zones offer investors tax incentives for qualifying investments in designated geographic areas. We’ll explore questions such as: How can Partners get involved? How do you evaluate and make an OZ investment either through an existing fund or by setting up your own fund? What are the challenges, pitfalls, and upsides? Come explore this new territory with us! Dinner served at 6:15pm. Program begins at 6:45pm.
