SV2 Kids at Home – Making Bag Lunches for North Fair Oaks with PAL – Virtual Event

This program will be held in virtual format via Zoom. The digital link will be sent via Eventbrite upon registration. In order to access the digital link, Eventbrite will require you to log in or create an account if you don’t already have one.

For help with Zoom, please see this how-to document. If you have additional questions, please contact Lucinda Brommersma, Director of Partner Engagement.

We invite SV2 Partners and prospective Partners with children ages 4-12 to make bag lunches for families served by the Police Activities League (PAL) in the North Fair Oaks neighborhood and surrounding community. From our own homes, we’ll gather on Zoom, put on masks and gloves, and work together to make bag lunches for families involved in activities at PAL.

During this virtual event, we’ll learn about PAL’s programs and catch up with each other while we work. Each bag lunch will include a sandwich, drink, and a snack. SV2 families can drop the bag lunches off at PAL in Redwood City midday, after our time together. We can arrange to pick up the bag lunches from Partners’ homes if needed. Please RSVP if you’re able to join us–and even if you’re not, but would like to learn more about this opportunity to serve from home. SV2 Teens are also welcome to participate. If possible, we’d love to provide 240 bag lunches to serve every family PAL staff will be visiting that afternoon.

Suggested Bag Lunch Ingredients:

Each lunch bag can contain a sandwich and one or more additional items:

  • the sandwich – meat, cheese, or sunflower butter and jelly (no peanut butter, please)
  • juice or bottled water
  • a fruit (apple, orange, or banana)
  • snack (granola bar, chips, packaged cookies or something sweet)
  • a friendly, uplifting note or drawing in/on the bag

Note: An average loaf of sandwich bread will allow you to make around 10 sandwiches
