Congratulations to our SV2 partners who completed SV2's first New Partner Grantmaking round this spring and awarded $25,000 to Breakthrough Collaborative - San Jose!
Congratulations to the Environment Affinity Group's 2008 grantees:
- The Ella Baker Center for Human Rights was awarded $25,000 to support their work on state legislation for "green collar jobs"
- Build It Green was awarded $50,000 for the development of a software system to support the organization's GreenPoint rating system for evaluating the environmental responsibility of residential homes
- JobTrain (formerly OICW) was awarded $25,000 to grow and improve its solar panel installation job-training program
The Education, International, and Self-Reliance/Foster Care grantmaking groups will all be making their 2008 grant decisions in late summer/early fall 2008!
Congratulations our first grantees from SV2 Affinity Groups in 2007 and to all group members for setting a high bar for the quality of the Affinity Group experience!
- Silicon Valley Children's Fund was awarded $50,000 by the Self-Reliance Affinity Group for their Middle School Foster Youth Program. Thanks to Lance Fors and Lisa Sonsini for heading that group!
- Center for Resource Solutions has been awarded $50,000 by the Environment Affinity Group to enable them to ensure that California's climate change policies incorporate individual actions taken by forward-thinking corporations and individuals. Mark Parnes, Arthur Keller and Marianna Grossman Keller provided tremendous leadership for this group.
- IDEX (International Development Exchange) has been awarded $30,000 by the International Affinity Group to engage rural impoverished Indian and Mexican women in solutions to their own local economic development challenges.
- Unitus was awarded $20,000 by the International Affinity Group to assist their work in fighting global poverty through microfinance. Thanks to Toni Cupal, Lorene Arey, and Hayley Ditzler for leading the International effort !
