Nancy Cannon-O'Connell

Dr. Cannon is an executive coach and consultant, bringing over twenty years of management experience to her work with senior managers and teams. She has held the position of vice president for strategic development in two national health care firms and has consulted extensively on issues such as management responses to accelerated market changes, leadership development in times of organizational change, and product development strategies to meet shifting customer demands. She has been a senior management consultant in the public and private sectors.

Her consulting & coaching clients have included teams & individuals in healthcare, financial services, technology and other sectors. Her work has taken her into Chevron and Ford Motor Company, Merck, Eli Lilly, Pfizer and Harte-Hanks as well as technology firms such as IBM, Agilent /Philips Medical Systems, Cisco, and IDX Systems; MCOs such as Wellpoint, United Healthcare, Cigna; and insurers such as CNA Insurance and Great West. Her client work has spanned Venezuela, parts of Europe and South Africa.

She has completed public-sector engagements for the City of Philadelphia, the City of Boston, the County of Miami-Dade, HCFA, Massachusetts Medicaid and several large nonprofit health care systems (including Massachusetts General Hospital/Partners Health Care and Stanford University Hospital System).

In the course of her work, Nancy has coached/mentored scores of managers and has been highly effective in developing key high potential individuals into successful professionals and members of outstanding teams. Nancy’s diverse portfolio of business experience coupled with her strong interpersonal skills creates a thoughtful approach to problem solving that readily builds trust and acceptance, and makes her an asset to her coaching clients.

She received her doctorate in public policy and health economics from the Heller School, Brandeis University. Nancy is also dedicated to supporting educational reform and social change in the communities where she lives and works.
