Laura Lauder

Laura Lauder was one of the first Partners to join SV2 in 1998. Over the years, she has participated in numerous grant rounds and consulted with two Grantees: Eastside College Prep and Downtown College Prep. She currently serves on the Board Executive Committee.

Laura Lauder formed Lauder Partners with her husband Gary in 1992. Her firm specializes in Internet and cable-related investments. She served on the board of directors of Spark Networks, which owns JDate. Ms. Lauder is very involved in nonprofit work, sitting on the boards of the Jewish Community Federation of San Francisco, JESNA, the Jewish Funders Network and the National Public Radio Foundation. She recently became a fellow of the Council on Foreign Relations. She and Gary co-founded the Socrates Society of the Aspen Institute. Ms. Lauder is also the founder of DeLeT, a fellowship that gives selected applicants access to a career in Day School teaching, modeled on her experience as a fellow of the Wexner Heritage Foundation.

She was awarded the San Francisco Bay Area Dinkelspiel Young Leadership Award in 1999, and the Jim Brooks Achievement Award in 2004. She was also named one of “10 Women to Watch” in 2004 by Jewish Woman magazine. She and her husband Gary were also profiled in Gentry Magazine for their outstanding philanthropic leadership.

I have been engaged in and inspired by SV2’s mission since joining over ten years ago. It is clear to me that SV2 is on the edge of a new inflection point of growth in Partners and impact, and it is a joy and honor to be a part of leading the organization.
