Joe Cullinane

Joe Cullinane joined SV2 in 2010, and already he has been involved in the Education and International grant rounds, the Partner Advisory Board, SV2’s Marketing-Communications Committee, and his son Charlie has participated in SV2 Teens.

Joe is currently working on a variety of global business development projects, advising a diverse clientele of executives and entrepreneurs, and has recently completed a new book for executives, Surfing the Rift, that explains the strategic uses of next-generation Internet technologies.

Among his areas of expertise are strategic business development, global sales and marketing, and the strategic deployment of new Internet technologies in support of business development and branding initiatives.

Joe has held sales and marketing positions with NCR Corporation, Xerox Corporation and as an executive at Diversified Software Systems, Inc. He later founded and led the Telum Group, a Silicon Valley consulting firm dedicated to providing professional sales and marketing services to hi-tech start-ups.

At Northern Illinois University Joe served a multi-year term as an Executive-in-Residence for NIU's College of Business. He has taught such courses as global marketing, marketing and new technology, and entrepreneurship. He has also coached student teams in the Experiential Learning Center (ELC) as they created and executed programs for leading corporations. Joe has also taught sales and marketing courses at the Keller Graduate School of Management and Aurora University.

In 2005, Joe received the annual Outstanding Alumni award from the Department of Marketing at Northern Illinois University's College of Business. Joe holds a Master of Science in Communication degree from Northwestern University, a Master of Business Administration degree from Dominican University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from Northern Illinois University.
