The Poverty Action Simulation is an awareness tool for participants to experience what it is like to live in poverty for a month (4 weeks, 15-real-time minutes per week). It is designed to reflect the day-to-day realities of life with a shortage of money and an abundance of stress. Though the scenarios, props and time limits are fictional, this is not a game but rather a powerful and tangible experience of the real-world of living in poverty. Lindsay and Holly have both done this simulation in the past and we highly recommend it! The simulation is thought provoking and engaging. It is definitely worth the time -- so if you're available and interested, we hope you'll join us. All SV2 Partners are invited and encouraged to attend this event, and we definitely hope parents will attend along with SV2 Teens.
This event is only open to SV2 Teens, who are the children or close relatives of SV2 Partners. To learn more about becoming an SV2 Partner, visit http://www.sv2.org/page/become-a-partner
